Eparchial (Diocesan) News
Just a couple of days after the letter with neo-nazi threats addressed to the Orthodox church community in Split, another violent attack occured this morning, on the 18th of January 2008, when it has been discovered that the doors and walls of the manse are full of neo-nazi and ustashi garfitti, such as: «Serbs to be butchered!» together with ustashi simbol of capital letter U with a sign of cross above it.
These disturbing events, which lately occur very frequently on the territory of the Dalmatian Diocese augur badly for the ominous time of the Second World War when a lot of people lost their lives only because of their nationality or faith.
Today on the 15th of January 2008 in the late afternoon hours, church community in Split has received a letter full of national hatred and with neo-nazi threats in which it is claimed that Serbs and Jews in Croatia will and sholud be slaughtered and butchered. In this appaling letter fascism and ustashi; Ante Pavelic and «holy» concentration camps of Jasenovac and Stara Gradiska are praised; it is also full of awful menaces such as «Serbs to be butchered», «Juden raus» and some such.
Oraovica (Municipality of Preševo, Southern Serbia): Albanian Terrorists Vandalize, Desecrate Church of St. George Dating Back t15. January 2008 - 12:29
Even though, in this year's Nativity Encyclical, the Serbian Orthodox Church had called upon all people to live in peace and to avoid conflict, this hasn't been sufficient for the Albanian terrorists in Southern Serbia. On the contrary, they committed a serious crime against the Serbian people and their spiritual and cultural heritage by desecrating the Church of St. George in Oraovica, on the most joyful Christian holiday - the Birth of Christ, just like innumerous times before. They forced the metal blinds and violated the church by entering it through one of the windows, after they had extirpated the church's cross, which had been embodied into the concrete of the roof, since no other roof covering could resist the Albanian vandals. What made them do this just on Christmas Day? It was their way of demonstrating their rude violence against the church dating back to the 14th century, for in the village of Oraovci (which once had a Serb majority) there is not a single Serb left since 1966. The Serbs have been expelled by Albanian extremists, who then desecrated and destroyed all Serbian graves in Oraovica, leaving not a single tombstone or monument in its place or intact.
An exhibition entitled „Serbian Cultural Heritage in Kosovo and Metohija'' showing the agony of Orthodox monasteries in the Southern Serbian province during the post-war period was opened at the Gracanica Monastery on Christmas Day.
There are few suburbs in Johannesburg where only local black people are living. These parts of towns are called locations, and they are very unsafe with high rate of crime. There are unwritten rule between white people not to go there under any circumstances. One of these suburbs is Thembisa where Christian School Saint Atanasius is located.
