Minister of Faith and Diaspora Mr. Srdjan Sreckovic prepared yesterday, on the occasion of the session of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, a reception for His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and the members of the Assembly.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch sent condolences to His Holiness Patriarch Kirril of Moscow and All Russia and to President of the Russian Federation Mr. Dmitry Medvedev regarding the yesterday's tragic terroristic attack in Moscow:
On the occasion of the terrible tragedy with great victims that has hit the Russian capital at the international airport "Domodedovo" when it was killed 31 people and injured more than 130, we ask You that together with the families of victims and the whole Russian people accept our sincere and deep condolences.
We pray to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Who is the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25) for the repose of their souls in the Kingdom of heaven, and You, the families and the brotherly people of Russia comfort in pain.

Serbian Patriarch Irinej
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch exchanged Christmas greetings with all heads of Orthodox autocephaly and autonomous Churches, many archbishops, metropolitans and bishops. Serbian Patriarch Irinej has received lots of greetings from higher and secondary education institutions of the Serbian Orthodox Church, administrations of monasteries and many believers in the country and from the diaspora.
Not being able to individually thank everyone, he does in this way, with best wishes for every good of all the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church, by sending them a fatherly greeting and patriarchal blessing.
In a presence of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje kyr kyr Jovan served Christmas Liturgy in Belgrade's Cathedral Church.
President of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadic congratulated Christmas to the Serbian Orthodox Church and all believers who celebrate this holiday using the Julian calendar.
"I wish that this great holiday spend in peace and welfare, with family and friends. Peace from God! Christ is Born!", it was said in the President's greeting.
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej recieved today in the Serbian Patriarch High Reverend Archimandrite Vasileios, hegumen of the Iviron Monastery on Mount Athos.
