The Russian Orthodox Church’s delegation led by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the enthronement of His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of the Great Antioch of All the East.

No Spurious Solution

The Cypriot people will never agree to a spurious solution but will continue to struggle for their historical inalienable rights, Archbishop Chrysostomos has said.

His Beatitude  was commenting on an editorial published in the Financial Times which linked the present financial crisis facing the island with moves to revitalise relations between the European Union and Turkey.

His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa is paying a missionary visit tto Tanzania and Burundi from 15th to 27th February 2013.

Three candidates for Bulgarian Patriarch elected

Тhe Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, today on 15 February 2013, elected three episcopal candidates for the patriarchal throne.

These candidates are: Metropolitan Neophyte of Ruse, Metropolitan Galaktion of Stara Zagora and Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovech.

On 15th February 2013, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, arriving in Dar-es-Salaam, the first stop of his many days missionary visit to Tanzania Burundi and Rwanda,  was shocked to hear of the unexpected death of Isidoros Salakos, Archimandrite of the Alexandrian Throne.

The late Father Isidoros passed away at a hospital in Heliopolis in Cairo, as a result of complications from the wounds he suffered in an automobile accident during his journey to conduct a service last Sunday from the Egyptian capital to Suez.
