Beloved brother and concelebrant before the Throne of the Lord!

On behalf of the pleroma of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and on Our own behalf, We ask You to accept the expressions of Our brotherly and prayerful condolences on the occasion of the accident with fire in Bucharest on 31 October 2015, in which 27 young people lost their lives.

We pray to the Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ to grant the rest to the souls of the newly departed young persons in this accident, and to their parents and their relatives may He grant consolation in their pain.

130th Anniversary of Autocephaly of the Romanian Orthodox Church

The address of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, delivered on Wednesday, 28 October 2015, at Cotroceni Palace, at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of Romania, on the 130th anniversary since the acknowledgement of the autocephaly of the Romanian Orthodox Church and the 90th anniversary since her elevation to the rank of Patriarchate:

Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria Offers Condolences to Russia Over Recent Tragic Accident

Patriarch Neophyte of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church offered his condolences over the tragic plane crash in which hundreds of Russian citizens lost their lives in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Saturday.

An official letter sent by the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church reads, as follows: “On this mournful day, when the clergy and the nation prayed for the peace of the soul of Patriarch Maxim of Bulgaria at his grave in Troyan, we were deeply sorrowed to hear the tragic news about the death of 224 Russian citizens in a plane crash in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

On Monday 2nd November 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Eminence Narkissos Metropolitan of Noubea, arrived in Entebbe, Uganda via Nairobi, for a Pastoral Visit to the Holy Metropolis of Kampala.

Letter of Condolence following Air Crash

His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, who is already on a Missionary journey in Uganda, sent a letter of condolence to Patriarch Kyril of Moscow, following the plane crash which took place in Sinai yesterday, in which more than 200 Russian passengers were tragically killed on their way from Sarm el Seih in Egypt to St Petersburg.
