Serbian Patriarch ordains hierodeacon Sava (Bundalo) to the rank of hieromonk

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, ordained hierodeacon Sava (Bundalo), brother of the monastery of Saint Petka in Zagreb, to the rank of hieromonk.

On the fifth Sunday of Holy Forty-Days, 18 April 2021, when we celebrate a memory of Venerable Mary of Egypt, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, Administrator of the Diocese of Zagreb-Ljubljana, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zagreb.

The Diocesan Council held a session in Zagreb

The Patriarch in Zagreb celebrated the second great Vigil service, when he read Akathist to the Most Holy Mother of God.

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, the administrator fo the Diocese of Zagreb-Ljubljana served a prayer of supplication in the Cathedral church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zagreb before the regular annual session of the Diocesan Council.

Serbian Patriarch receives Ambassador of Belarus

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received His Excellency Valery Brilev, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on 15 April 2021.

The cordial conversation between Patriarch Porfirije and Ambassador Brilev emphasized the importance of maintaining fraternal relations between Serbs and Belarusians, which have always been decorated with examples of mutual understanding, respect, and solidarity.

Serbian Patriarch received Ambassador of Hungary

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received His Excellency Atilla Pinter, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on April 14, 2021.

The Serbian Patriarch and the Hungarian ambassador discussed various forms of cooperation between the two neighboring nations and their states. The patriarch informed the representative of Hungary of the principled position that all the rights that the Serbian Church has in the state and society have all the traditional Churches and religious communities. He also pointed out that he has been familiar with Hungarian culture since his early childhood and that there are many sincere friends among Hungarians with whom he cooperates on many issues.

Serbian Patriarch receives Archbishop of Belgrade

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received His Eminence Stanislav Hocevar,  Archbishop and Metropolitan of Belgrade, in the Serbian Patriarchate on 14 April 2021.

This was the first official visit of Archbishop Hovecar who congratulated Patriarch Porfirije the election and the enthronement to the throne of the primates of the Serbian Orthodox Church, expressing his dedication to the development of the friendly relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Serbian Patriarch received Ambassador of Romania

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received Her Excellency Silvia Davidoiu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on April 14, 2021.

In a cordial conversation, the Patriarch and the representative of friendly Romania expressed mutual satisfaction with the centuries-old friendly relations between the two neighboring nations. The interlocutors agree that the Orthodox faith makes our peoples especially close. Ambassador Davidoiu informed Patriarch Porfirio about the excellent cooperation between the Republic of Romania and the Republic of Serbia, emphasizing that she is happy that the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Romanian Orthodox Church enjoy a reputation of the highest trust among the people.
