Earlier this year, we came together as a community United in Faith, Love and Action – working against the clock to find a matching bone marrow donor for Jelena Stojakovic.
I regret to inform you that despite your generous willingness to help, and our combined efforts to save her life, Jelena fell asleep in the Lord at a Seattle cancer treatment center on Tuesday, November 15. She was 32 years old. She was devoted to the Lord in faith and to improving the condition of her fellow man as shown through her years of service at International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC).
On Sunday, November 20, 2011 the church slava was solemnly celebrated of the parish of St. Archangel Michael in Sidney's suburb of Homebush, which is the only anglophone parish of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand.
The Orthodox universe yesterday celebrated the saint of new times - St. Nectarios of Aegina. The monastery, which was founded by this saint in Aegina, is visited by pilgrims from around the world.
In the continuation of the visit to Argentina as the Bishop - administrator of the newly-founded Diocese of Buenos-Aires and South-Central America of the Serbian Patriarchate, His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfiilohije served, on the occasion of the church slava, on November 21, 2011 on the feast day of St. Archangel Michael, in the church in Venado Tuerto in Argentinian province of Santa Fe.
On the occasion of the Patron Saint's Day of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Bishop Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral yesterday in the Cathedral church in Trebinje served the memorial service for the members of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska suffered in the last war, then he cut the slava cake and blessed the slava wheat.
