At the Quay of the Raid victims in Novi Sad near the Monument Families, organized by the Orthodox Diocese of Backa and the Jewish municipality of Novi Sad, on January 23, 2012, the prayerful commemoration for the citizens of our city who innocently suffered from the Hungarian occupation forces seventy years ago.
The Orthodox Diocese of Backa continued prayerful marking of seventieth anniversary of Novi Sad-Sajkas Raid with appropriate academy Children of Immortality, which was held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 19h in the Great Hall of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad.
After the Prayer of the Lord, which was chanted by the choir of the Grammar school Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj, the attendees were addressed by His Grace Bishop Dr Irinej of Backa.
It has been two years since the Holy Assembly of Bishops elected His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch for the successor of Saint Sava, for the first hierarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church. This event was marked on Sunday, January 22 in the Cathedral church in Belgrade where Patriarch Irinej served the Divine Liturgy. His Holiness at the Holy Service of God was concelebrated by priests and deacons of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac, and the choir of the First Belgrade Singing Society chanted. Protopresbyter-staurophor Radic Radicevic held a sermon.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served yesterday, on the feast day of Synaxis of St. John the Baptist - St. John's Day, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in St. John's church at the Central cemetary in Belgrade.
His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno served yesterday, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the Cathedral church in Belgrade. The Holy Liturgy was attended by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and His Grace Vicar Bishop Andrej of Remesiana. On this occasion Bishop Atanasije blessed water of the Feast of the Cross.
