On Friday, October 16, His Grace Bishop Maxim, accompanied by Fr. Gregory Edwards, a priest of the Western American diocese currently studying theology in Thessaloniki, Greece, traveled from Belgrade to Tvrdos Monastery in Herzegovina. They first flew from Belgrade to Tivat, Montenegro, a picturesque town on the Adriatic coast.

Church, Schererville, St. George Church, East Chicago, St. Elijah
Church, Merrillville and St. Sava Church, Merrillville held 17th
Humanitarian banquet "Mother Against Hunger", at the St. Elijah Church
Hall in Merrillville. Holy
Liturgy was served in St. Elijah Church by local pastor Rev. Aleksandar
Novakovich. Many sisters from neighboring parishes attended the liturgy.

Bishop Irinej encourages
Australian Government to support the Exchange Health and
Pension Benefits Scheme with the Republic of Serbia
On 2 October 2009, writing
on behalf of the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Australia,
His Grace Bishop Irinej encouraged Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Foreign
Minister Stephen Smith to support the implementation of the Social Agreement
between the Commonwealth of Australia and the Republic of Serbia, as
well as the Health Agreement between the two countries.
A special and solemn Divine Liturgy was
served at the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Elizabeth, New
Jersey on Sunday, Septmeber 20, 2009 on the occasion of the feast day
of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Krsna Slava of the
Circle of Serbian Sisters of this parish. The liturgical joy was shared
with many guests from Philadelphia, New York and Elizabeth, as well as
Banja Luka, Republika Srpska.
