On the day when the Serbian Orthodox Church prayerfully remembers the Holy Greatmartyr Prince Lazar, in the full courtyard of the church which is dedicated to this Serbian victim and martyr for faith in Zemun Polje,it was particularly solemn.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and Minister Sutanovac signed yesterday at the Army Club in Nis an "Agreement on the performance of religious services in the Army of Serbia with the Serbian Orthodox Church." The agreement regulates the mutual relations between the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Orthodox Church in connection with the conduct of religious services in the Serbian Army. The signing of the Agreement was attended by Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa and Vicar Porfirije of Jegar.
In the church of Ascension of Christ in Vienna, on second Sunday after Pentecost, on June 26, 2011 the Divine Liturgz was served by His Grace Konstantin of Middle Europe with the concelebration of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa, priests and lots of faithful people of the newly founded Diocese of Austria-Switzerland.
Above the Saran pit in Jadovno, yesterday His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovci with the concelebration of priests and monks of the Bishopric of Gornji Karlovci served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy, and then the memorial service to all the killed Orthodox Serbs in the pits of Jadovno and other scaffolds in Croatia.
At the Divine Liturgy served on June 26, 2011 in the town of Naoussa, in the Metropolitanate of Veria, Naoussa and Campania, in the presence of representatives of all Orthodox Churches, the martyrs for the faith suffered in the revenge of the Turks against the Orthodox people of Naoussa because of their uprising in 1822 are officially proclaimed saints.
The feast day of Holy Apostles Bartholomew and Barnabas was solemnly celebrated with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Belgrade suburb of Rakovica.
