His Grace Dr Irinej, Bishop of Backa received on October 15, 2012 at the Bishop’s Residence, Mr. Milos Vucevic – the Mayor of Novi Sad who was accompanied by Mr. Milos Vucevic – Deputy Mayor. Protopresbyter Vladan Simic – Secretary of the Bishop of Backa also attended the meeting.

On the Feast day of the Patriarchate of Pec, on October 14, 2012, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch yesterday opened the Office of the Committee of the Holy Assembly of Bishops for Kosovo and Metohija. This Office was moved from Belgrade to the Patriarchate of Pec by the decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops in September 2011, in order to assume additional duties (apart from its formal ones) of documenting and preparing the work of the Committee, as well as collecting archival and library materials about the life and suffering of the Serbian Church and people in Kosovo and Metohija.
Serbian Vlachernon Monastery of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos in Djunis celebrated its Slava. This year too, the Most Holy Theotokos gathered thousands of pious souls who came from all Christian places to pray for the Cover and Protection of the Queen of Heaven.

His Holiness and the members of the official delegation were welcomed in Cairo by His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theorodos II of Alexandria and All Africa together with His Grace Bishop Nikodim of Nitrea, the Patriarch's vicar in Cairo. Later on they visited the historical monastery of Saint George. There they were being welcomed by abbot - His Grace Bishop Niphon of Babilon with clergy.

Admiral Stavridis was welcomed by His Grace Kyr Jovan, Bishop of Lipljan, Vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch, who informed him about the treasure of the Mother church of all Serbian churches.
