Sunday, February 3, 2013 Lakewood, CO—As the sun was settling over the snow-covered peaks of the Rocky Mountains, local priests and a small crowd of faithful Christians awaited the arrival of His Grace Bishop Maxim at Denver International Airport for his pastoral visit to the church community in Lakewood, Colorado.

On the basis of the Annual program of the cooperation of the Committee for religious education of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci and the Military Academy, also this year a traditional audience was organized for officers and cadets of the Military Academy on the occasion of the feast of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher.

There were several audiences on 27 and 28 February 2013 at the Serbian Patriarchate.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received on February 27th the delegation of the Association of descendants of the soldiers in the liberation wars 1912-1920.

Following day, on February 28th His Holiness met with Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert. Their Graces Bishops Teodosije of Raska-Prizren and Andrej of Remesiana attended the meeting.

National Library marked its day

The National Library of Serbia marked the 181th anniversary of its existence with various manifestations. During the central ceremony a traditional award of the Library was presented for the best among the most read books. This year’s laureate is Slobodan Tisma for his novel Bernardi’s room (Bernardijeva soba). Celebration of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher and Saint Emperor Constantine in Niš

The feast day of the forefather of the holy Nemanjic’s dynasty - the day when we celebrate among the saints our father Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher - was solemnly celebrated in Nis. The 900th anniversary of his birth was marked with this celebration. At the Cathedral church His Grace Bishop Jovan of Nis celebrated the festal vigil service.
