Feast day of St. Basil of Ostrog celebrated on Banjica

The magnificent church of St. Basil of Ostrog on Banjica today was small to recieve many believers who came to this church to prayerfully celebrate the feast day of St. Basil of Ostrog  the Wonderworker. With the concelebration of priests and deacons of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by His Grace Bushop Atanasije of Hvosno, Vicar of Serbian Patriarch Irinej.

Patron Saint's Day of the church in Dvor na Uni

On the feast day of St. George, the Patron Saint's Day of the church of St. George in Dvor na Uni, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovci with the concelebration of priests and monks of our Diocese.

Followin the Divine Liturgy, which was attended by many believers from this place, especially the children, there was blessing of slava cake, procession around the church and consecration of a fountain in the church court yard. 

Cathedral Deacon Awarded Doctoral Degree at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago

The Reverend Father Damjan S. Bozic, Cathedral Deacon at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, was awarded a Doctor of Ministry Degree on Saturday, May 7th, 2011, at the University of St.Mary of the Lake - Mundelein Seminary following the successful completion of his doctoral studies and acceptance of his dissertation.

Bishop Longin Celebrates Paschal Services in Chicagoland

His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America celebrated the first day of Pascha by serving Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois, where the parish's Slava was celebrated. Serving with Bishop Longin were Archpriest-Stavrophor Dennis Pavichevich, Priests Darko Spasojevic, Radovan Jakovljevic and Vasilije Vranic, and Deacons Damjan Bozic and Nikolaj Kostur.

Lots of Orthodox believers from Visegrad and nearby suburbs, monks and priests of the Diocese of Dabrobosna on Wednesday evening welcomed Serbian Patriarch Irinej. The festive welcome was enhanced also by young folklorists from the Serbian Sokol  society "SOKO" from Dobrun, and Patriarch Irinej had been welcomed before on the  border crossing Vardiste by Metropolitan Nikolaj of Dabrobosna and mayor of Visegrad Tomislav Popovic..
