Raising of the Dome and Bell on the New Church in Orlando

Saturday, May 11, 2013 was a day to remember for the faithful of the St. Petka Church in Orlando, Florida. Exactly two years after construction on the new church began many Orthodox faithful from Central Florida and other areas gathered to attend the liturgy and the blessing and raising of the main dome and cross for the new church. The Divine Liturgy was served by a number of local Orthodox clergy. Officiating was V. Rev. Stefan Zaremba, the Dean of the St. Petersburg Deanery for the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America.

Prince Andrej’s Remains Return to Serbia

His Royal Highness Prince Andrej’s casket was met today at the Nikola Tesla airport by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, Prince Vladimir and Prince Dimitri, sons of HRH Prince Andrej; Princess Lavinia – Maria, daughter of HRH Prince Andrej with young Luka Austin Prichard (son of HRH Princess Lavinia-Maria); HRH Princess Elizabeth; Prince George and Prince Michael; Ms. India Oxenberg, granddaughter of Princess Elizabeth; Professor Oliver Antic, Special Advisor to President of Serbia; government officials and His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, Vicar to Serbian Patriarch.

President of Serbia visits Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch met with President of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic at the Serbian Patriarchate on 13 May 2013. His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno attended the meeting. Following the meeting, His Holiness and President Nikolic addressed the public explaining the reason and topics of the meeting.

Serbian Patriarch receives the delegation of Swiss WOLFSBERG group

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received on 11 May 2013 a delegation of the Swiss WOLFSBERG group, consisting of representatives of the eminent Swiss firms, banks, insurance companies, science and media. At the audience His Grace Bishop Andrej of Remesiana held a keynote address to the high guests on the activities of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Kyr Irinej served the first (midnight) festal Divine Liturgy at the Monumental St. Sava's Cathedral on Vracar (Belgrade). A number of clergy from the Archdiocese concelebrated to His Holiness at the Liturgy. The entire event was followed by a national broadcaster which conveniately enabled those who were hindered to particiapte in the liturgical celebration, to feel the festal joy and magnificence of the liturgical celebration. At the liturgy were present Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Ivica Dacic and a number of high representatives of the Government and the Diplomatic corpse, as well as the people from the political and public life of the Capital.
