Great jubilees of our Holy Church

Yesterday at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade, the Academy was held on the occasion of the celebration of two great jubilees of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2010 - 90 years since the renewal of the Pec Patriarchate  (1920-2010) and 60 years since Patriarch Gabriel reposed (1950-2010). The dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Bachka welcomed the guests, firstly His Holiness IRINEJ, Serbian Patriarch and Bishops of our Church.

Rector of the cathedral in Belgrade presents Patriarch Kirill with an icon of St. Lazarus of Kosovo

After the Divine Liturgy celebrated on 6 May 2010 at St. George's on Poklonnaya Hill, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with members of St. Michael's patriarchal choir in Belgrade led by the rector of the cathedral and artistic director of the choir, Archpriest Peter Lukic. The choir has come to Moscow with the blessing of Patriarch Irinej of Serbia for the 9th Easter Festival.

Bishop Atanasije opens soup kitchen in Prekovci, visits school and faithful in Paralovo

ЕThe Diocese of Raška-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija, together with the NGO "Majka devet Jugovića" (Mother of the Nine Jugoviches) today officially opened its fifth soup kitchen and bakery in the village of Prekovci near Novo Brdo. The new soup kitchen, which is located on the premises of the (already existing) soup kitchen in Prekovci, will provide daily hot meals and bread to the poorest citizens in the municipality of Gnjilane.

Cathedral’s slava celebration in Chicago

Parishioners and friends of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago gathered to celebrate the Cathedral's annual Slava on Sunday, April 11th, 2010. The annual Cathedral Slava is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday following PASCHA, also called St. Thomas' Sunday.
