His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served this morning within his first official visit to the Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of St. Peter and Paul the Apostles in Bijelo Polje, and then visited Mojkovac where in in the church of Nativity of Christ a solemn welcome was organized. Patriarch Irinej was welcomed then in the church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zabljak.
With priests of the Piva area, Patriarch Irinej tonight served the solemn Vesper service at the Piva monastery, and tomorrow (31.07) after solemn welcome at 8.30 am at the Saka Petrovic square in Niksic, His Holiness will serve with many Bishops and priest of our local Church the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Niksic with a beginning at 9 am.
In St. Archangels monastery near Prizren on July 26 2011 the Patron Saint's Day of the monastery was solemnly celebrated. The Holy Liturgy was served by Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren with the concelebration of priests and monks of the Diocese, as well as with a participation of about two hundred believers from many parts of Kosovo and Metohija, central Serbia and Montenegro. Bishop spoke especially about St. Archangel Gabriel who brought the good news to the Most Holy Theotokos, informing her about the birth of Christ the Saviour.
On Tuesday, July 26 2011 when our Holy Church celebrates the Synaxis of St. Gabriel the Archangel, the Patron Saint's Day of this St. Archangel's church on Dedinje in Belgrade.
The feast day of Sts. Peter and Paul the Apostles gathers each year the Church of Christ in Auckville around the church raised in their honor. Also this year of the Lord St. Peter's Day was solemnly celebrated, at first with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy.
The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by Bishop Grigorije of Canada, with the concelebration of the head of the church protopresbyter Zlatibor Djurasevic and other priests.
