Parishioners of Holy Resurrection Cathedral Support IOCC Event

On a chilly Saturday morning on October 2, 2010, a small group of our parishioners gathered at St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago in order to support the endeavors of IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) humanitarian organization.

Beginning of Church School Year at Chicago Cathedral

Today, on the feast of the Synaxis of Serbian Saints, the new Church School year was festively and prayerfully inaugurated at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois.ja

With the blessings of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, administrator of the Metropolitanate of Libertyville-Chicago, the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy and Inv ocation of the Holy Spirit was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica-Midwestern America with the concelebration of episcopal deputy Very Reverend Fr. Dennis Pavichevich, Cathedral dean Reverend Fr. Darko Spasojevic, Reverend Fr. Radovan Jakovljevic, Reverend Fr. Vasilije Vranic, Protodeacon Fr.  Milovan Gogic, and Deacon Fr. Damjan Bozic.

St. Nikodim Chapel Slava

The St. Nikodim Chapel holds a special place in the Eastern American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The St. Nikodim Chapel is located in Mars, Pennsylvania in the Episcopal Headquarters of His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN, the Diocesan Bishop. The St. Nikodim Chapel provides a place for His Grace to pray and to serve throughout the year. The St. Nikodim Chapel is a holy site for prayers for all the clergy, monastics and faithful of the Diocese, living and departed. Visitors coming to the Diocesan Headquarters during the year find the St. Nikodim Chapel to be a source of inspiration and a glory to God in the Serbian Orthodox tradition.
