On 21 March 2026, a delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church arrived in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, to attend the funeral of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Tbilisi and All Georgia, Ilia.
 
The delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church consisted of: His Eminence Metropolitan of Budimlje–Nikšić kyr Metodije – a member of the Holy Synod of Bishops; His Grace Bishop of Valjevo kyr Isihije; Archpriest Filip Jakovljević; and Mr. Miljan Nikitović.
 
According to the wish of the ever-memorable Patriarch Ilia, the place of burial, which has taken place on the following day, 22 March 2026, has been designated as the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in Tbilisi.
